Blue Door Networks, one of the nation's fastest growing technology providers, has implemented an Extreme Networks' Ethernet infrastructure solution enabling the latest theatric technologies
SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 3, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Extreme Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: EXTR), a leader in high performance networking, and its solution partner Blue Door Networks today announced delivery of a state-of-the-art converged network for the newly constructed 250,000 square foot Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando.
"The installed state-of-the-art infrastructure powers voice, video, and data connectivity supporting the Dr. Phillips Center's digital signage, IPTV, performance audio and video, and VoIP solutions," said Bruno Sousa, Dr. Phillips Center vice president of technology systems. "The arts center enjoys a high quality, resilient network for the staff while also enabling an enhanced guest experience."
The converged network features Extreme's SummitŪ family of stackable fixed switches and was installed and is supported by Blue Door Networks, a Veteran-owned, communications and information technology (IT) company that maintains a complete portfolio of technology products and solutions for enterprises and performing arts centers alike. The network deployment, implemented in November, addresses core and edge networking requirements with a uniform solution that consists of Extreme Networks' SummitŪ X670 core switches and Summit X460 edge switches. The resulting solution provides a converged platform for mission-critical voice, video and multimedia services.
Extreme Networks' NetSight network management platform allows for a single pane of glass configuration and administration, which optimizes the efficiency of network operations and reduces the total cost of ownership. The network also uses differentiated Quality of Service (QoS) to help ensure end-to-end continuity for latency-sensitive applications.
"We are delighted to be supporting the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and the continuing transformation of Orlando and Central Florida," said Mike Seaton, president, Blue Door Networks. "This project epitomizes what can be accomplished when a community focuses their efforts on partnership and collaboration. The Dr. Phillips Center is a world-class destination and the Extreme Networks infrastructure deployed delivers the capabilities required by today's high triple play demands and tomorrow's proliferation of applications, which will further engage the guests at all shows and events."
"Working with Blue Door Networks, Extreme Networks delivers the right combination of expertise and technology to solve the problems of the largest venues and other challenging environments," said Derek Granath, senior director of product management for Extreme Networks. "We are proud to be vendor of choice for the new network infrastructure serving the impressive Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando."
